Start-up of multi-effect evaporator at the U.S.W. Treatment Center

At Grupo Vento we are proud of our recent collaboration with a leader in the integral management of waste and in the application of environmental solutions, with a growing investment activity in sustainable processes related to the circular economy.

As a result of an intense technical collaboration, we have successfully installed and launched a new facility for the evaporation of wastewater from the RO rejection of leachate generated at a Waste Treatment Centre.

The supplied evaporator is specially designed for its complex function. It corresponds to a triple effect, under vacuum regime, working the first effect (multitubular) with the outgoing hot water of the electric cogeneration engine, the second effect is monotubular falling film and the last effect is monotubular rising film under forced circulation. In addition, a crystallization reactor, combined energetically with the main evaporation unit, has been arranged as a finalizer. The full plant is automatically operated by an SCADA system.

By taking profit of the residual hot water from the cogeneration engine the energy efficiency of the system is maximum, minimizing operating costs.
