Alternative technology for evaporation ponds in olive industrialization

Currently, atmospheric evaporation ponds are used; method that does not require the application of a large amount of energy source but it is not a definitive solution.

There is an alternative technological solution for the Minimization of Effluents generated and a possible Valorization of the by-products generated in it.

It is a purification and recovery system for wastewater generated in the industrialization of olives and the manufacture of pickles, based on the concentration of dissolved salts through forced evaporation and the recovery of volatile compounds for possible recovery through distillation, minimizing the production of polluting effluents.

– Allows a minimization of effluents in approx. 90%

– Allows the reuse of water, thus reducing the purchase of water, which, as we have already said, uses very large amounts of water in these processes

– Allows the recovery of the by-products generated in the process: volatile compounds (polyphenols, …), dissolved salts, …
